UChicago Presents - with Rahim AlHaj (Oud)

Hailed as a master of the oud and named a 2015 NEA National Heritage Fellow, Rahim AlHaj is a performer and composer who combines traditional Iraqi music with contemporary styling and influences. He has collaborated with artists from jazz guitarist Bill Frisell, to contemporary string ensemble Kronos Quartet, to rock band REM. In this concert, he performs some of his most recent work alongside the Kontras Quartet, Issa Malluf (percussion), and Christian Dillingham (bass).
